Returns Policy
Returns and Refunds
This policy explains the conditions that apply when returning goods purchased from Supertec Racing, including change of mind returns, incorrectly ordered products, faulty goods, international returns, special order products and custom manufactured parts.
Please read this policy before returning any goods to us. If you are unsure whether a product can be returned, please contact Supertec Racing through the contact details provided on our website before sending it.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
UK Online Orders and Change of Mind
If you are a UK consumer and have purchased goods from us online, by telephone or by another distance selling method, you normally have 14 days from receiving the goods to notify us that you wish to cancel the order.
Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
You do not need to provide a reason for exercising your statutory right to cancel.
Before returning any goods, please contact Supertec Racing through our website to request a Returns Form and return instructions.
The requirement to contact us and complete a Returns Form is intended to assist with processing the return and does not prevent a consumer from exercising a statutory cancellation right by another legally valid method.
Checking Parts Before Installation
It is the customer's responsibility to check that the product ordered is correct and suitable for the vehicle and intended application before attempting to fit or install it, where Supertec Racing has provided the correct product and fitment information.
Customers must check all relevant information before installation, including where applicable:
-
Vehicle make and model.
-
Model year.
-
Engine specification.
-
Transmission.
-
Chassis or platform code.
-
Brake specification.
-
Wheel and tyre compatibility.
-
Dimensions.
-
Clearances.
-
Left hand or right hand drive compatibility.
-
Any other application specific requirements stated in the product description.
If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable for your vehicle or application, please contact Supertec Racing before fitting or installing it.
Ordering an incorrect product does not automatically remove a consumer's statutory right to cancel an eligible online order. However, this right does not provide an unrestricted right to fit, install or use a product and then return it because it proves unsuitable.
Condition of Returned Goods
Goods returned because of a change of mind or because the customer ordered an incorrect or unsuitable product must be returned in a condition that reflects no more handling than would reasonably be necessary to inspect them.
Returned goods should be:
-
Complete with all original components, fittings and accessories.
-
Returned with the original packaging wherever reasonably possible.
-
Securely packaged to prevent damage during return transit.
-
Unmodified.
-
Free from damage or contamination caused after delivery.
-
Free from installation or use related marks resulting from handling beyond what would reasonably be necessary to inspect the goods.
Products must not be drilled, cut, machined, painted, modified or otherwise altered.
Customers must not fit, install or use a product if they are considering returning it because of a change of mind, incorrect ordering or incompatibility.
Automotive components can become unsuitable for resale as new once they have been fitted, installed or used.
Test Fitted, Fitted, Installed or Used Products
All returned products may be inspected by Supertec Racing before a refund is issued.
Where a product has been test fitted, fitted, installed or used and this has caused marks, damage, contamination or otherwise reduced its value, Supertec Racing reserves the right to reduce the refund by an amount reflecting the actual reduction in value, to the extent permitted by law.
Evidence of fitting, installation or use may include, but is not limited to:
-
Bolt, nut or washer marks.
-
Socket or spanner marks.
-
Scratches or abrasions around mounting points.
-
Marks on mounting faces.
-
Damaged or marked threads.
-
Clamp marks.
-
Bearings or bushes having been pressed into or removed from the product.
-
Grease, oil, brake fluid, coolant, fuel or other contamination.
-
Brake disc or brake pad contact marks.
-
Heat or exhaust discolouration.
-
Tyre mounting marks.
-
Electrical connection or installation damage.
-
Cut, drilled, machined or modified components.
-
Damage caused during fitting or removal.
-
Evidence that protective coatings or films have been removed where removal was not reasonably necessary for inspection.
-
Any other evidence that the product has been fitted, installed or used.
Where fitting, installation, use, modification or damage means that a product can no longer reasonably be sold as new, the reduction in value may be substantial.
Where the customer's handling, fitting, installation, use or modification has genuinely reduced the commercial or resale value of the product to nil, the permitted reduction may amount to 100% of the product price and therefore no monetary refund may be due, where permitted by law.
Any reduction will be assessed according to the actual condition and reduction in value of the returned product.
Opening the packaging or reasonably inspecting a product will not by itself result in an automatic deduction.
These provisions do not affect a customer's statutory rights where the product was faulty, incorrectly supplied, not as described or otherwise failed to conform to the contract when supplied.
Incorrectly Ordered Parts
Where Supertec Racing has supplied the product ordered and the product and fitment information provided is correct, customers are responsible for ensuring that the product is suitable for their vehicle and intended application.
Customers must check compatibility before attempting installation.
If you are uncertain about compatibility, please contact Supertec Racing before ordering or installation.
Where a customer has ordered an incorrect product but retains a statutory right to cancel the online purchase, that right remains unaffected.
However, where the customer has test fitted, fitted or installed the incorrectly ordered product and this has caused marks, damage, contamination or another reduction in value, Supertec Racing reserves the right to make an appropriate deduction from the refund reflecting that reduction in value, where permitted by law.
This does not affect the customer's statutory rights where Supertec Racing supplied the incorrect product, materially misdescribed its compatibility, or the customer reasonably relied upon specific fitment advice provided by Supertec Racing as part of the purchase.
Refunds
Where a UK consumer exercises a valid statutory right to cancel an eligible online order, Supertec Racing will refund the amount required by law.
This will normally include the price paid for the goods together with the cost of the least expensive standard delivery service offered for the order.
Where the customer selected an enhanced delivery service, including express, timed or premium delivery, Supertec Racing is not required to refund the additional cost above the standard delivery charge.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Supertec Racing may withhold reimbursement until the goods have been received back or the customer provides evidence that they have returned them, where permitted by law.
Where the value of returned goods has been reduced because of handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect them, Supertec Racing reserves the right to make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.
For statutory consumer refunds, Shopify transaction charges, card processing charges or currency conversion charges will not be deducted where applicable law does not permit such deductions.
Where Supertec Racing agrees to accept a return outside the customer's statutory rights, the return will be treated as a discretionary return and different conditions and charges may apply.
UK Return Carriage for Change of Mind or Incorrectly Ordered Goods
Where goods are returned because the customer has changed their mind, ordered an incorrect product or decided that a correctly supplied product is unsuitable, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods to Supertec Racing, where permitted by law.
Customers must use an appropriate delivery service and should ensure that the returned goods are adequately insured for their value.
The goods remain the customer's responsibility until they have been safely delivered to Supertec Racing.
Supertec Racing cannot accept responsibility for returned parcels lost or damaged by the customer's chosen carrier before delivery to us.
Customers should retain tracking information and proof of postage until the return has been completed.
International Orders and Returns
Consumer cancellation and return rights vary between countries and territories.
Customers outside the United Kingdom may have mandatory consumer rights under the laws applicable to their purchase. Certain countries, including European Union member states, provide consumers with cancellation or cooling off rights for eligible online purchases.
Supertec Racing will honour any mandatory consumer rights that legally apply to an international order.
Unless applicable mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, international customers are responsible for the full cost of returning goods to Supertec Racing where the return is due to:
-
Change of mind.
-
Incorrect ordering.
-
Customer error.
-
Incorrect vehicle identification.
-
Failure to check compatibility.
-
Unsuitability for the customer's intended application where the product was correctly supplied and described.
This includes international return shipping and suitable insurance.
International customers must use a tracked and adequately insured delivery service appropriate to the value of the goods.
The goods remain the customer's responsibility until they have been safely delivered to Supertec Racing.
International Returns and Customs
International customers must contact Supertec Racing before sending any goods back to the United Kingdom.
International returns should be correctly declared on all shipping and customs documentation as RETURNED GOODS / RETURN TO SELLER, where appropriate.
Returned goods must not be incorrectly declared as a new commercial sale to Supertec Racing.
Incorrect customs documentation can result in UK import VAT, customs duty, courier clearance fees, brokerage charges, storage charges and other costs being applied when goods are returned to us.
Where applicable, Supertec Racing may use Returned Goods Relief or another appropriate customs procedure for qualifying goods being returned to the United Kingdom.
Where Supertec Racing incurs avoidable customs duty, import VAT, brokerage, storage, clearance or similar charges because the customer has:
-
Incorrectly completed customs documentation.
-
Failed to identify the shipment correctly as returned goods.
-
Failed to follow return instructions provided by Supertec Racing.
-
Used an inappropriate customs declaration.
-
Otherwise caused charges that could reasonably have been avoided.
Supertec Racing reserves the right to recover the actual reasonable costs incurred from the customer or deduct those costs from any amount otherwise refundable, where permitted by applicable law.
Where legally permitted, Supertec Racing reserves the right to refuse delivery of an international return where substantial customs or import charges have been incorrectly applied to the shipment.
International customers must therefore contact Supertec Racing before arranging a return so that the correct return and customs instructions can be provided.
Overseas Import Duties and Taxes
Import duty, import VAT, sales tax, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges and other taxes or charges collected by the destination country's authorities or courier are separate from the amount paid to Supertec Racing.
Supertec Racing does not normally receive these charges and therefore cannot normally refund them.
Where an international customer returns an order, the customer is responsible for applying to the relevant customs or tax authority for any refund or recovery of duties or taxes for which they may be eligible.
Nothing in this section affects any mandatory consumer rights that apply to the transaction.
International Fitted or Used Returns
The conditions relating to test fitted, fitted, installed, modified or used products also apply to international returns.
Customers must not fit or install a product that they intend to return because of change of mind, incorrect ordering or incompatibility.
Where a returned product shows evidence of installation or use and its value has been reduced as a result, Supertec Racing reserves the right to reduce the refund to reflect the actual reduction in value, where permitted by the law applicable to the purchase.
Where fitting, installation, use, modification or damage has genuinely reduced the commercial or resale value of the product to nil, the permitted reduction may amount to 100% of the product price and therefore no monetary refund may be due, where permitted by applicable law.
Custom Made, Manufactured and Bespoke Products
Products that are manufactured, machined, modified or otherwise made specifically to a customer's individual specification are not eligible for cancellation, return or refund due to a change of mind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Parts manufactured specifically to a customer's dimensions or specification.
-
Custom machined components.
-
Components manufactured with customer specified dimensions, bore sizes, offsets, mounting arrangements or other specifications.
-
Parts drilled, machined or modified specifically for the customer.
-
Products supplied with a custom finish specifically requested by the customer which is not part of our normal standard product offering.
-
Components manufactured for a customer's specific vehicle or application where the specification is unique to that customer.
-
Existing products modified or machined at the customer's request.
-
Any other genuinely bespoke or personalised product manufactured specifically to the customer's individual requirements.
Once an order for a genuinely custom made, manufactured or bespoke product has been accepted and manufacture, machining or modification has commenced, the order cannot be cancelled because the customer has changed their mind, no longer requires the product, has sold the vehicle, ordered incorrectly or subsequently decides that the product is unsuitable for their intended application.
Custom made, manufactured and bespoke products cannot be returned for exchange, store credit or refund simply because they are no longer required.
This exclusion does not affect the customer's statutory rights where the product is faulty, not as described, incorrectly manufactured against the specification agreed with Supertec Racing, or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.
Special Order and Non Stock Products
Some products supplied by Supertec Racing are not routinely held in stock and may be ordered specifically from a manufacturer or supplier following a customer's order.
Where a special order or non stock product is a standard product and mandatory statutory cancellation rights apply to the purchase, those rights will continue to apply.
Where a special order product is manufactured, machined, modified, personalised or otherwise produced specifically to the customer's individual specification, it will be treated as a Custom Made, Manufactured or Bespoke Product and the provisions above will apply.
Where no statutory right of cancellation or return applies, special order and non stock products are non returnable unless Supertec Racing agrees otherwise in writing.
Any acceptance of a special order or non stock return outside the customer's statutory rights is entirely at the discretion of Supertec Racing and may be subject to reasonable restocking, administration, payment processing, shipping or other costs incurred by Supertec Racing.
Nothing in this section affects a customer's statutory rights in relation to goods that are faulty, incorrectly supplied, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
Faulty or Incorrectly Supplied Goods
If Supertec Racing has supplied an incorrect product, or you believe that a product is faulty, please contact us before returning it.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods supplied to UK consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose where applicable, as described and otherwise conform to the contract.
UK consumers may have a short term right to reject goods that do not conform to the contract within 30 days, together with further rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending upon the circumstances.
Consumer rights can continue beyond the initial 30 day period.
Where goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied and Supertec Racing is legally responsible for the return, Supertec Racing will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.
Supertec Racing reserves the right to inspect and, where appropriate, test any product returned as faulty in order to establish the nature and cause of the alleged fault.
A manufacturing or product fault is not the same as damage caused by:
-
Incorrect installation.
-
Incorrect fitment.
-
Misuse.
-
Accident or impact.
-
Use in an unsuitable application.
-
Unauthorised modification.
-
Incorrect maintenance.
-
Failure to follow installation instructions.
-
Operation outside the intended specification or limitations of the product.
-
Other damage caused after delivery.
Where inspection shows that the problem was caused by installation, misuse, modification or another matter for which Supertec Racing is not responsible, the product will not be treated as inherently faulty solely because it has subsequently failed or become damaged.
Goods Damaged in Transit
Customers should inspect their delivery as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it.
If a parcel or product appears to have been damaged during transit, please contact Supertec Racing as soon as possible and preferably within 2 days of delivery.
Please provide photographs showing:
-
The damaged product.
-
The outer packaging.
-
The internal packaging.
-
The shipping label.
-
Any visible impact or handling damage.
Prompt notification allows Supertec Racing to investigate the damage and pursue the matter with the carrier where appropriate.
The request to report transit damage within two days does not remove any statutory consumer rights that may otherwise apply.
Labour, Installation and Removal Costs
Customers and installers must check that the product supplied is correct and suitable for the intended vehicle and application before installation.
Supertec Racing is not automatically responsible for labour charges, installation costs, removal costs, vehicle recovery, storage, loss of vehicle use or other associated costs arising from the installation or removal of a product.
If you believe that Supertec Racing has supplied an incorrect or faulty product, please contact us before incurring significant labour or other additional costs wherever reasonably practicable.
Nothing in this section excludes or restricts any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Deposits
Supertec Racing may require a deposit of between 50% and 100% of the order value for certain non stock, custom made, bespoke, personalised or specially manufactured products.
The applicable terms will be explained where appropriate.
Where manufacture, machining or modification of a bespoke product has already commenced, or legally binding costs have reasonably been incurred following the customer's instructions, cancellation will be dealt with according to the circumstances, the agreed specification and applicable law.
Where a product is genuinely manufactured, machined, modified or personalised to the customer's individual specification, the provisions within the Custom Made, Manufactured and Bespoke Products section of this policy will apply.
Nothing in this section removes statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Returns Outside Statutory Rights
Where a customer does not have a statutory right to return goods, Supertec Racing may, at its discretion, agree to accept a return.
Supertec Racing is not obliged to accept a discretionary return.
Where a discretionary return is accepted, Supertec Racing may make reasonable deductions to cover costs incurred as a result of accepting the return, including where applicable:
-
Restocking costs.
-
Administration costs.
-
Shopify transaction charges.
-
Card processing charges.
-
Currency conversion costs.
-
Original delivery costs.
-
Missing or damaged packaging.
-
Reduction in product value.
-
Customs or brokerage charges caused by the return.
-
Other reasonable costs directly associated with accepting the return.
Any applicable conditions will be confirmed before Supertec Racing agrees to accept the discretionary return.
Supertec Racing reserves the right to refuse a discretionary return where a product has been test fitted, fitted, installed, used, modified, damaged or is otherwise no longer in saleable condition.
These conditions do not apply where the customer has a statutory right to cancellation, rejection, repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or another remedy.
Exchanges and Store Credit
Supertec Racing may offer an exchange or store credit instead of a monetary refund where appropriate.
Where a customer has a statutory entitlement to a monetary refund, an exchange or store credit will only be provided instead where the customer agrees to that alternative.
Where an exchange or store credit is offered as part of a discretionary return outside the customer's statutory rights, it will be subject to the conditions agreed with Supertec Racing.
Returns Procedure
Before returning any goods, please contact Supertec Racing using the contact details or contact facility provided on our website.
Supertec Racing will provide a Returns Form, the appropriate return address and any relevant return instructions.
Please provide the following information:
-
Customer name and contact details.
-
Order or invoice number.
-
Details of the product being returned.
-
Reason for the return.
-
Details and photographs of any alleged fault or damage where applicable.
Goods should not be returned without first contacting Supertec Racing, as this may cause delays in identifying and processing the return.
International customers must contact Supertec Racing before sending any goods so that the appropriate customs and return instructions can be provided.
The Returns Form and return procedure are intended to assist with the efficient processing of returns and do not prevent a consumer from exercising a statutory right by another legally valid method.
Business Customers
Consumer cancellation rights apply to individuals acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
Orders placed wholly or mainly for business purposes may be subject to different terms and do not automatically benefit from the consumer cancellation rights described in this policy.
Where Supertec Racing agrees to accept correctly supplied goods from a business customer, acceptance will be subject to the applicable business terms or otherwise at the discretion of Supertec Racing.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, business customers are responsible for the cost and risk of returning correctly supplied goods.
Supertec Racing reserves the right to impose reasonable restocking, administration, payment processing, shipping and other charges on discretionary business returns.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Returns and Refunds Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or reduce any legal rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
For UK consumers, these rights include those provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
For customers outside the United Kingdom, any mandatory consumer protection laws that legally apply to the transaction will continue to apply.
